Furniture Mission Warehouse Expansion 2025

This fall we have the opportunity to significantly grow our warehouse space – and we’re taking it.

Furniture Mission of the Red River Valley started as an idea in 2019, but quickly became a reality and the need continues to increase.  We've grown from a temporary space, to our current and first leased space of 10,000 sq ft, and we thought we'd never fill it. In 2023, we expanded to 13,000 sq ft, while still using shipping containers and outside storage units to help manage growing inventory. 

We continue to see the need for our service grow, and strive to be part of a solution for so many local families getting back on their feet. When we were approached with an opportunity to expand our space to up to just over 17,000 sq ft we knew we had to take it. 

This expansion of our current warehouse space will provide:
  • Ability to accept more furniture
  • Additional access to loading doors
  • Enhanced volunteer and staff spaces
  • Rebuilt loading docks
  • Additional facility improvements
  • Ultimately serving more people and operating even better

It also will mean more expense. Rent continues to be our greatest expense and this will add an additional $30,000 annually. There will also be an immediate impact of unbudgeted rent, fit up costs, and additional supplies for our new space.

Your gift to our 2025 Warehouse Expansion campaign will help ease the burden of this transition while setting the stage for years of increased access to furniture for local families in need.


Construction on our warehouse starts in September and will continue through the fall season. Our goal is to operate as best as possible throughout the renovation to continue to serve local families. ​

Since our start in 2020, we’ve helped over 3,200 families by gifting over 42,000 furniture items. With your help, we will be able to take the next big leap to address the growing need of furniture insecurity in our community.
