Your gently used furniture can support a local family in their time of crisis.

your furniture donations impact in 3 ways

Local Families - While the families we serve are experiencing a variety of circumstances, most of them have one thing in common - they are completely starting over. Donated furniture builds our inventory to ensure that we have critical items needed by these families to get back on their feet. 

Referral Agencies - The families we serve are referred to us from a network of 40 local agencies who support people in critical transitions. Prior to our start, they spent valuable resources sourcing, moving, and storing furniture for the clients they supported. Today, because we are able to provide access to critical furniture items these agencies and their teams can refocus their resources into fulfilling their own missions. A Sustainable Community - Fewer and fewer places are accepting furniture as donated goods. That means that when pieces no longer add value, more often than not the end up in our local landfill. By connecting these items to local families in need we are able to keep more usable pieces out of the landfill and in homes where they can add real value for years to come. 

How to donate furniture

Drop it off - We accept donation drop offs without an appointment on Wednesdays between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Need a different day? No problem, we just need to schedule a drop off appointment to make sure someone is available to accept it. You can schedule by calling 701.729.1410, or by Clicking Here! 

Schedule a Pick Up - We pick up donations in the Fargo/Moorhead community on Tuesday's and Thursday's between noon and 5:00 PM. To schedule a pick up, please call 701.729.1410. While there is no fee for this service a suggested donation of at least $40 is strongly encouraged, payable online or with our driver at the time of pick up. Please note: This option is subject to schedule availability, and typically books out between 1 and 2 weeks. 

If you need something picked up sooner than we can accomodate with our internal pick up service, we also partner with a third party provider that will be able to respond to urgent pick ups for a fee. Click Here to schedule an urgent pick up.  

Gently used condition - what does that mean? 

We ask that donated items be in "gently used" condition. That means that the items are free of rips, tears, stains, and work as they are designed to. We like to say that if you'd be comfortable having the item in your daughter or granddaughter's first apartment, chances are we'd accept it.  While we do have some talented volunteers who help us with light repairs, because of the number of families we serve we need the majority of donated items to be immediately regiftable. 

what do we accept

We specialize in providing access to furniture for households in a time a crisis or challenge. We know pieces like beds, dressers, and lamps are always going to be needed. There are times, however, when we either have an abundance of a particular item, have a dwindling supply, or know that the individuals or families we serve won't find certain pieces helpful. Please use the updated list below to see what items we're accepting at this time, and remember that accepted pieces should still be in "gently used" condition free of tears, significant staining, or damage. 

Please Note; Our drivers can refuse donations based on item type, condition, or out ability to move the items safely within reason.

  • Mattresses, box springs, and bed frames sizes Twin, Full, and Queen
  • Couches
  • Chairs/recliners (powered items are accepted, as long as they work as designed)
  • Kitchen tables with or without chairs
  • End tables/coffee tables
  • Dressers
  • Rugs
  • Bookshelves
  • Wall art/decor 
  • Quilts/bedding
  • Lamps
  • Personal Desks (smaller than 3 ft wide)

Not Currently Accepting
  • King sized mattresses, box springs, and bed frames
  • Sofa-beds
  • Single dining chairs - (sets of 2 or more accepted)
  • Cribs (with the exception of crib mattresses)
  • Appliances
  • Filing cabinets 
  • Dishes/silverware
  • Headboards (only accepted as part of a complete bed)
  • Large china hutches, entertainment centers, armoire 
  • Desks larger than 3 ft wide
  • Beds with powered adjustable bases (mattresses/bases)
  • Patio or outdoor furniture
  • Seasonal or holiday decorations
